Getting Started

How do I add my first wine?

Open the Scan tab and choose a mode. Use Barcode to scan the bottle's UPC, or Label to capture a photo of the front label. Cork & Ledger reads the label with AI and pre-fills winery, vintage, and varietal. Confirm and save.

Can I add wines manually?

Yes. From the Scan tab, tap "Add Manually" or skip the scan and tap the + button on the Cellar tab.

How do I sign in?

You can use Sign in with Apple, Google, or an email and password. Your cellar syncs across any device you sign into.

Wines & Data

Why doesn't my wine show a market value?

Market values come from auction and retail aggregation by WineLabs. Many everyday wines, including most California reds under $40, simply don't have enough public comps to publish a price. Critic scores have broader coverage than market data — you may see a score even when the price is blank.

Why doesn't my wine show a critic score?

Critic scores require the wine to be matched to a known producer and vintage in our reference database. Smaller producers and very recent vintages may not have published reviews yet.

How is cost basis calculated?

We use FIFO (first-in, first-out) accounting per wine. Each purchase is recorded as a separate lot with its own price and date. When you remove a bottle, the oldest lot is consumed first.

Can I export my cellar?

Yes. Go to Settings and tap Export Cellar to download a CSV file with all your wines, purchases, and tasting notes.

Photos & Scanning

The styled bottle photo never appeared. Why?

AI bottle styling runs in the background after you save a wine. It can take 10-30 seconds. Pull down on the wine detail screen to refresh. Some photos fail extraction; in that case, the original photo is kept.

The label scanner couldn't read my bottle.

Ensure good lighting, hold the camera steady, and fill the silhouette outline with the front label. If it still fails, tap "Enter Manually" and fill in the details yourself.

Why doesn't barcode scanning work for some bottles?

Wine barcodes are inconsistent — many small producers don't register UPCs, and direct-import bottles often lack them entirely. When that happens, use the Label scanner or add manually.

Account & Privacy

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings → Erase Cloud Data to permanently remove your cellar from our servers. To delete the account itself (including auth records), email us.

How do I clear data from my device?

Settings → Clear All Data wipes the local cellar on this device only. Cloud data remains intact and resyncs when you sign back in.

Where is my data stored?

Locally on your device, and synced to our backend at Supabase (United States). See our Privacy Policy for details.
